Working in Lockdown

When more restrictions were announced along with the new national lockdown, many businesses had their operations restricted, altered or completely shut down.

While ‘non-essential’ businesses have been required to close, Scutum Group would like to assure our customers that our services remain unaffected by the lockdown, and we’re continuing to offer our fire safety equipment and training to customers around the country.

Fire safety personnel are deemed to be ‘key workers’, and as such, we are able to continue our work. Fire safety legislation remains unchanged and continues to be enforced as it was before the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020 – from emergency work to scheduled inspections and maintenance, all fire safety services are available.

Our team continues to observe all COVID-19 safety guidelines in the course of their work. Masks are worn at all times and hands are sanitised regularly to maximise protection and minimise the spread of bacteria amongst our staff members and our customers.

It’s important to ensure your fire safety responsibilities are met where possible. All business owners, whether your premises remain open or closed, should ensure their fire protection is in hand. It is good practice to have your fire risk assessment reviewed annually by a qualified person, particularly if there has been a change in layout, working practices, refurbishment or if the number of personnel has increased or decreased.

Fire risk assessments are key to keeping your staff and customers safe; inspections and maintenance will also ensure any fire safety equipment is working properly and safely.

If you are concerned about the fire safety of your building, or you are in need of new fire safety equipment – be it fire extinguishers, fire alarms, dry risers or something else, don’t delay any course of action. Scutum Group are here to support you and your business, providing fire safety equipment, fire safety training and fire risk assessment services whenever you need them.
